When starting the NetSoft Router I get the error: Connection to System SystemName has failed.

The first thing to check is host servers on the AS/400. For specific AS/400 setup please see Direct TCP/IP Router Configuration.

  • If you still cannot connect, verify that TCP/IP is loaded on your machine.
  • Verify that the QUSER account exists on your AS/400 and that the password has no expiration.

I can start the printer session, but I can't see it started on the AS/400.

The Direct TCP/IP link does not require the writer device on the AS/400. You only need to setup an OUTQ and a MSGQ to enable printing.

When I type STRHOSTSVR *ALL at the AS/400 command line I get an invalid command message.

You may not have Host Servers available on your AS/400. To check this, at the AS/400 command line type GO LICPGM and select option 10 to view installed programs. Look for Host Servers. If it is not listed, contact IBM, or your system administrator.

I keep dropping my Display session using the Direct TCP/IP link.

Please download and apply 22x.upd.exe
