The Relay/Gold (PC) emulator products are not
affected by the year 2000. However, there are date functions in
Relay/Gold’s scripting language that should be considered if you
have written customized scripts that are date dependent. This applies
to all supported releases of Relay/Gold: DOS 5.08 and Windows 6.0
and later.
Relay/Gold accepts 4-digit years for date functions
such as &DayOfYear and &DayOfWeek and returns a 4-digit year in
variable &Year. For any 2-digit year provided by the user to Relay/Gold
the following assumptions apply: if the number is greater than or
equal to 80, the date is 19xx; if the number is less than 80, the
year is 20xx. Any interpretation of 2-digit years is the responsibility
of the owner of the script application and not of Relay/Gold.
Relay mainframe products with CPUID checking
and expiration date processes were modified to conform to year 2000
requirements. These changes were made within each product itself
and do not affect users, the user interface or data entry. Currently,
the mainframe products are 1) year-2000 compliant or year-2000 tolerant
or 2) do not check dates. “Tolerant” means that the products will
work in next millenium but use only the last 2 digits of the year,
thus not being year-2000 compliant.
The following Relay mainframe products are year-2000
compliant:
Relay/3270 (VM/VTAM) Version 5 (as of May, 1998)
Relay/3270 (MVS/VTAM) Version 5 (as of May, 1998)
Relay/Transfer TSO Version 5 (as of May, 1998)
Relay/Transfer MVS/VTAM version 1.1 (as of May, 1998)
The following Relay mainframe products are year-2000
tolerant:
Relay/Transfer CICS/VSE V2.00 (zap 9)
Relay/Transfer CICS/MVS V2.00 (zap 9)
The following Relay mainframe products do not
perform date checking:
Relay/Transfer VM Version 4.1
Relay/3270 VM Version 5 (as of May 1998)
