NetManage Z-Mail Pro Client
for Windows is the latest product release in the comprehensive Z-Mail
messaging family. Z-Mail Pro includes several e-mail related
applications, bundled together for your convenience. Z-Mail
Pro Client can be used together with NetManage Z-Mail Servers, or
any other standards-compliant e-mail server to provide an innovative
solution for enterprise-based electronic mail needs.

Lets you display, copy, and print bit-mapped graphics files
received as MIME e-mail attachments.

Lets you run a sound file that you have copied as a MIME
e-mail attachment.
VBA Script Editor
VBA Script Player
Lets you write or modify scripts for advanced mail management
capabilities. It helps you learn the script language, and
assists you in building the commands. The Visual Script Player
executes the commands specified in the script file. Scripts
can be executed based on the matching of a Z-Mail Pro
rule (see section on Rules in Z-Mail Pro chapter or
online help.)
In a TCP/IP networking environment, most applications
have a client/server relationship. The client application requests
connections and other services from the server. The server application
waits for incoming requests, and provides responses to the client.
The Z-Mail Pro Client product can be used with NetManage JetMail
Server or Post.Office for Z-Mail for an enterprise-based e-mail
implementation. The Z-Mail Pro Client can also be used in
any other TCP-IP based networking environment.

Using This Manual
Use this manual to install, set up, and customize
the Z-Mail Pro Client on your computer.
To use this document, you are assumed to be
familiar with Microsoft Windows, DOS, and basic TCP/IP terminology.
You will find troubleshooting sections at the end of each chapter.
These sections provide a simple way to quickly diagnose any problems
you may encounter. The Glossary
at the end of the manual also defines basic terminology.
Finding Help
All applications include online documentation
in the form of standard Windows help. This is available at all times
from within the application, limiting the need to refer to this
documentation.
To access online help from an application, select
Contents from the Help menu. You can navigate through a variety
of topics by choosing the buttons along the top of the window, as
well as by selecting underlined text. Hypertext links are provided
to cross-reference information.
You may obtain printed information by selecting
Print Topic from the File menu; you may also copy text, using the
Edit menu.
Dialog Box Fields
A down-arrow button next to a dialog box field
indicates that additional predefined selections are available for
that value. Choose the button and a drop-down list box appears,
containing these selections. Some dialog box fields may also let
you type in an alternate selection.
Error checking is performed on values entered
into dialog boxes. Entering invalid values results in a beep and
displays the insertion point at that field. Other dialog boxes may
not permit an action until all required fields have been supplied.
For example, sending mail is disabled until the destination address
is specified.
Status Bar
Applications provide you the option of showing or
hiding the application's status bar. The status bar is displayed
at the bottom of the application window, where it displays information
about the currently selected task.
Toolbar
The ToolbarToolbar command lets you display or hide
an application's toolbar. The toolbar gives you quick mouse access
to some of the application's functions.
Changing Column Width and Order
You can change the width of each column or field.
You can also rearrange fields if you want to view them in a different
order. column width, changing To change the width of a column, do
the following:
Position the mouse pointer at the right side
of the column border for the column you want to resize.
Drag the column border to the desired size.
To move a column, select the column you want
to move and drag it to its new position.
License Violation Detection
A license violation license violation occurs
when multiple copies of a single licensed copy of the product are
present on a network. Under the license agreement, each copy of
the product is for a single user only and must not be shared.
NetManage software is not copy-protected and
may be freely installed on any type of disk. Although you can make
as many copies of the product as you like, the software notifies
all illegal copies of a license violation.
Each copy of the software must have a unique
serial number and key codeserial number. When the software detects
a duplicate serial number on the network, a message is displayed
on all duplicate serial numbered copies. This message interrupts
all work in progress on the computers involved.
All network activity is disabled after the license
violation has been detected. The NetManage applications appear to
run normally, but communication over the network is disabled.

Before you use this product, complete the registration
card registration card enclosed and mail it to NetManage. This will
ensure that you will be provided with customer support. It will
also allow us to keep you up-to-date on new products as they are
